Hangar 9 46% Ultimate 10-300
Takeoff: This is only the second flight of the Ultimate,
yet the pilot doesn’t hesitate to send it into a steep
departure angle from the get-go, and then right into
some aerobatics. That’s that 150cc engine cranking!
Fly-by: The Ultimate slows down for a fly-by for the
photographers. She handles just as well slow as she
does fast, the pilots reported.
Touch-n-Go: Note the smooth touch-n-go, and how swiftly
the Ultimate goes into a vertical climb and right back
into some more cool aerobatics.
Landing: A perfect landing for a perfect flight. You
can even hear the observers on the field applauding.
Commentary: Pilot and builder Sal Manganaro discusses
the handling capabilities of the Ultimate. He was very
impressed, as were all the Air Age staff and observers

Full-size Radial Engine Operation
This video was taken at the New England Museum of Aviation
where there are several full size radial engines on
display. The engine featured is the 1929 Pratt &
Whitney Wasp C. The Wasp C powered such commerical and
military as the Ford 5 AT Tri-motor, Sikorsky S-38,
Lockheed Vega, Boeing P-12/F4B, and Vought 02U Coursair.
Weighing in at 745 lbs., it produces 420 hp @2000 rpm
and has a displacement of 1344 cu. in. DOWNLOAD.
